When to Visit
Briarwood is open by appointment only. We’re a working farm, not a retail storefront, and we want to make sure every visit gets the personal attention it deserves. Book your visit through our appointment page to find a time that works.
Best Time to Visit: Lavender season typically runs from late June through July, though our 2026 growing season — our first full harvest year — may run a bit later into summer. This is when the fields are in full bloom, the harvest is underway, and the distillation process is in action. But Briarwood is beautiful year-round — the restoration areas are always worth exploring, and Dieckman Creek is at its most dramatic in fall and winter.
What to Expect
When you visit Briarwood, here’s what to know: wear comfortable shoes — the farm includes gravel roads, dirt paths, and unpaved trails. All visits are by appointment only, so book ahead through our appointment page. The farm shop is open during your visit.
Bringing Your Dog
Dogs are welcome on leash, but with an important caveat — Briarwood is home to farm dogs who have free rein of the property. If your dog is friendly and comfortable with other dogs approaching off-leash, they’re welcome to join you. If your dog is anxious, reactive, or defensive around unfamiliar dogs, we ask that you leave them at home for everyone’s comfort and safety. Long leashes are fine, and we ask that you clean up after your pet. Especially well-behaved dogs who get along with the farm dogs may be invited to go off-leash — but this is always at the owner’s discretion and decided case by case.
Accessibility
The farm sits on fairly flat land, but footpaths are a mix of gravel road, dirt road, and trail — not easily navigable for wheelchairs or mobility devices. The lavender fields are more accessible and could potentially accommodate a wheelchair or walker. The farmhouse has one step at all entrances.
