Frequently Asked Questions
Visiting the Farm
Where is Briarwood located?
We're located at 11982 Dieckman Lane SE, Aumsville, OR 97325 — in the Willamette Valley, about 15 minutes east of Salem. Full directions on our Visit Us page.
Do I need to make an appointment to visit?
Yes — Briarwood is open by appointment only. We're a working farm and want to make sure every visit gets personal attention. Use our appointment page to book a time.
Are dogs allowed?
Dogs are welcome on leash, but please read the fine print: our farm dogs roam freely on the property. Your dog needs to be comfortable with unfamiliar off-leash dogs approaching. If your dog is reactive or anxious, we ask that you leave them at home. Well-behaved dogs may be invited off-leash at the owner's discretion. Long leashes are fine, and please clean up after your pet.
Is the farm wheelchair accessible?
The farm is on flat land, but footpaths are gravel, dirt, and trail — not ideal for wheelchairs or mobility devices. The lavender fields are more accessible and could potentially accommodate a wheelchair or walker. The farmhouse has one step at all entrances.

Products & Shopping
What products do you sell?
We craft a full range of lavender products, starting with pure essential oil and hydrosol distilled right here on the farm. Our current product line includes skincare, with bath and body, aromatherapy, home goods, and culinary lavender products in development. Visit our Shop page to see what's available.
Are your products organic?
Our lavender is grown without synthetic pesticides or herbicides. We follow organic growing practices on the farm.
What is hydrosol?
Hydrosol is the aromatic floral water produced during steam distillation — it carries the water-soluble plant compounds and has a gentler scent than essential oil. We use it as a base ingredient in many of our products, from facial mists to linen sprays.
Events & Experiences
Do you offer farm tours?
Yes! Farm tours cover the lavender fields, restoration areas along Dieckman Creek, and our copper-still distillation process. See our Farm Experiences page for details.
